hi there, did you read my last email at all? here was my response, again::
thanks for your message, Diana! as i told you in my last email about what my bank account manager has advised me, there is a 45 calendar days holding period for your international/american business cheque; that being the case, i absolutely should not and cannot send any money or make any payment for your car delivery or for whatsoever reason else before the money is actually in my account. they warned me there are too many online scams nowadays. although personally i would very much like to trust you as an authentic nice spanish student, i cannot afford to take the risk, especially since i have never seen you in person, nor have i gotten any legal documents, specific references or other verifiable information about your identity or character as required on our ads on craigslist. that is to say, even upon your arrival, i would not necessarily take you as our tenant unless after you satisfy our scanning requirements, which we have to do with every new tenant, including you. if you do not feel comfortable with this process, you can ask your Father to cancel his cheque sent to me, but in that case, i have to deduct 600 dollars from the payment as compensation for my loss of one-month rent. please understand this as a normal legitimate procedure/practice according to our local tenancy act. also, we charge a 50 dollar pick up fee if you really need it from us when you arrive at vancouver int'l airport. please feel welcome to call me at my two business numbers. again, thanks and have a great new week! - mike
since you did not arrive on dec 22 as you said, i have begun to doubt if this is a rental-scam to begin with. are you aware of this site, which i have just found::http://www.rentingoutrooms. com/avoiding-a-common- roommates-scams-on-craigslist, -- apparently, this is a rental scam: similar names, similar approaches, almost exactly the same wording for emails ... how could you explain all this sameness please?
if this proves to be a rental scam, i, needless to say, will not rent any unit to you, and will report this to the police, while you can cancel your check if it is a valid one at all...
please be noted that i will not respond to your communication any more.
good try, and merry xmas! -
